A large element of this design was to deal with the shady area underneath a large sycamore at the end of the garden. 3 concepts (below) were presented as possible solutions but a simple curving path with a staked post crossroad was chosen and plans drawn up to that effect.

The simple softwood rounded posts act as a focal point and add visual interest, defining the paths and encouraging investigation.
Planted with shade and dry tolerant shrubs and grasses this area which formerly was a problem has now become a reason to walk around the garden and expereience nature. Planting in strong groups with colour themes re-empahsise the deisgn and the path networks.
A small semi-circular seating area defined by thick rope swags attached to softwood poles provides a seating opportunity. Woodland glade edge wild roses grow up the swags to provide summer fragrance and colour and 2 oval lawns are connected by a wildflower area divider.
